Archos 43 Internet Tablet with Android 2.2 Available Now


The Archos 43 internet tablet with Android 2.2 (Froyo) is now shipping. It was first announced by Archos at IFA back in August.

Specifications:
  • 4.3-inch 854x480 display
  • Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth connectivity 
  • HDMI output
  • 16GB of on-board storage, expandable by utilizing its microSD card slot
  • ARM Cortex A8 running at 1GHz with DSP and graphics support for 3D OpenGL ES 2.0.
  • Weight: 4.6 oz 
  • Video of 720p through its HDMI port when connected to an HD TV
  • HD video recording at 720p with its built-in 2MP rear-facing camera
  • Support for FLAC lossless audio playback (making it even more flexible than an iPod touch)
  • Also supports the Samba and UPnP protocols allowing users to connect to media servers and their computers to stream media wirelessly
It is compatible with Linux, Windows XP, Vista and 7, as well as Mac OS X. The Archos 43 is available through the Archos online store for $250.
