Apple Files Patent for Smart Bike

Apple so far has only produced electronic gadgets such as computers, tablet, mp3 players and smartphone. Recently Apple filed a patent application for futuristic bicycle as published by the US Patent & Trademark Office on August 5, 2010. This newly advance Smart Bicycle System is designed for both individual cycling as well as team. The system monitors speed, distance, time, altitude, elevation, incline, decline, heart rate, power, derailleur setting, cadence, wind speed, path completed, expected future path, power and pace.

The bike has a docking station on the handlebars where an iPad or iPhone slots in and connects up to the machinery and sensors to give real-time information to the rider on the screen. The sensors, the display and electronic device could communicate via communications network 150 – which covers GPRS, CDMA, EV-DO, EDGE, 3GSM, DECT, IS-136/TDMA, iDen, LTE and/or others.

I am just wondering how much it will cost, if I have one I will absolutely bring it inside the store every time I do my grocery shopping... I won't leave my Apple bike in the parking lot as I may lose the docking station or the sensors.

Thanko's "USB Necktie Cooler 3"

To stay cool at all time especially this summer, Thanko - okyo-based USB gadget maker - has released its"USB Necktie Cooler 3". They had USB Necktie Cooler 3 released back in June 2008.

It’s basically a silk necktie with a plastic fan built into the tie’s knot. Just plug the thing into a USB port (the cable is 135cm long) and use the switch to turn the fan on and feel cooler instantly. If you want to use the tie on the go, get the optional battery pack holding four AAA batteries.

As we can see it only cool the front neck, maybe the next version should have another fan at the back of your neck and on the bottom tip of the tie and of course they will call it USB Necktie Cooler 4. Let's wait.

Samsung Craft, The First LTE Handset of Metro PCS

Regional (US), no-contract carrier MetroPCS  offered a few more details on its planned LTE rollout, currently scheduled for later this year, including initial launch markets, planned content offerings and handset pricing expectations.

MetroPCS chief Roger Linquist said the carrier's planned LTE handset from Samsung, which will be called the "Craft", will sell at a price comparable with the carrier's current smartphone offerings. MetroPCS currently sells the BlackBerry Curve for $279. Linquist also promised LTE netbooks and tablets at some point in the future, but said the carrier will start first with handsets.

Verizon Wireless, which also is planning an LTE launch this year, has said it won't offer LTE handsets until the middle part of next year.

Augen GenTouch78 Android Tablet

GenTouch78 WiFi-only tablet from Augen is a bargain tablet. At $149 sold by Kmart, it costs 1/3 of an iPad but does it work very well? According to Laptop Mag  the Market app on the GenTouch78 actually doesn’t work, it can only search for, but not successfully download. If Google did allow it, why didn’t it work? And indeed according to Google Augen included proprietary Google software in their product via an unauthorized vendor. Maybe that is the reason why it is so cheap. For reading news on the go where there are WiFi hot spots it is a cheap nice gadget.

Features:
  • 800x480 color TFT touch panel screen
  • CPU: 800 Mhz
  • Ram: DDR2 256mb

Silly Spill is a Mock Mess

Have you ever travel by bus, train or subway where there are all kind of people, some smell sweat some other simply look like a killer. We are not talking about cute girls or guys who most people don't mind to sit with here. In addition, I guess basically most people prefer to sit by him/herself.
Now you don't need to worry because at Jeremy's Place you can get a mock drink spill to put on a empty seat next to you. They are various choices; coffee, ice cream, baby food, paint, etc. This is not really a gadget but it's good to have one in your gadget bag...

iSpot™ from Clear - Your Very Own 4G Hotspot

For the iPad, iPod and iPhone owners in United States if you are always on the go, now you can have your very own Super Fast Mobile Internet™ on the go anywhere Clear has coverage. The bad news is that it is not free. To enjoy the service you have to buy the iSpot On-the-Go Service Plan. For unlimited data usage and 4G (WiMax) speed, it is priced $25/month. The manufacturer's website doesn't say if iSpot can work with MacBook or MacBook Pro or PC and Android based Tablet. The download speed is up to 6.0 Mbps and upload speed is up to 1.00 Mbps.

For 4G coverage in the city and nationwide 3G service they have Clear Spot 4G+.

If you have an iPhone I am wondering if it's practical buying separate data plan from other company, outside your phone vendor such as AT&T. Why don't just buy data plan from your phone carrier? Yes, I know it is 4G right?
