HP to launch webOS 2.0 Roadrunner HD phone early 2011

According to HP executive, HP will have its first webOS 2.0 phones will in early 2011. One of the first handsets likely to launch could be the rumored Roadrunner HD said to feature an iPhone 4 Retina display equaling 960x640 resolution. HP bought Palm.

Details of web0S 2.0 to emerge thus far indicate that it will include user interface enhancements such as ‘cards’ where the OS automatically groups apps according to task, simplifying multi-tasking. It will also open more API’s to developers, giving them the opportunity to develop high-quality desktop-class apps.

HP faces a stiff challenge in rebuilding the user base of webOS after Palm failed to deliver on its early promise. Google's Android is continuing to increase its market share against Apple's iOS and the Blackberry OS. With Windows Phone 7 launching shortly, as well as Nokia's recent launch of its Symbian^3 powered N8, HP will be starting from well behind the field.

In addition to the Roadrunner HD phone, webOS 2.0 is also expected be the centre-piece of HPs anticipated PalmPad.

Zoom Q3HD Handy 1080p Video Recorder with Stereo Microphones

This company is called Samson (Samson Wireless) - not Samsung. They have just released a new little camcorder, the Zoom  Q3HD Handy Video Recorder. This little guy, in addition to boasting 1080p capabilities (at 30 frames per second) and 720p at 60 frames per second, the cam boasts 4x digital zoom, a 2.4-inch color LCD, NTSC/PAL TV and HDMI outputs, and USB 2.0. World’s Lightest Bike Weighs Just Six Pounds!

This bike can be the lightest but it takes the heaviest pocket to buy it. This $45,000 racing bike designed by Fairwheel Bikes in Tuscon, Arizona weights 6 pounds. The professional racers use bikes of 15 pound, which is more than twice the weight of this new lightest bike!

Fairwheel’s bike, which was shown over the weekend at the Interbike Show, features front and rear brakes, a 10-speed rear gear, a two-gear chainset, and AX Lightness carbon fiber rims with titanium spokes. Maybe even the most avid cyclist would rather buy an entry-level luxury car and a regular bike.. Maybe we should think again: $45,000.

Apple Rumored to be Testing Touchscreen Panels for New iMac

Apple is working on a new iMac. According to Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes, Sintek Photronics has sent samples  of capacitive touch panels to Apple for a new touchsreen all-in-one iMac desktop computer. The report claimed that the new hardware will have screen sizes of 20 inches and greater.

"The new iMac is rumored to have a good vertical and horizontal viewing angle, and its projected capacitive touch panel will adopt a one-glass solution, which integrates the touch sensor and cover glass, to reduce thickness and weight," the report said.

It noted that most touch panels are made by placing the sensor over the panel, and are then covered with glass. But it is said this method is costly, complex, and results in a dimmer screen.

The Aphelion Alarm Clock

This is an alarm clock that will really wake you up. It essentially wakes you up by throwing balls in your face (I am thinking about product recall after some broken jaws bone...)

If you are constantly late, the Aphelion alarm clock might just be the perfect form of punishment to kick you into gear. Aside from the cannonball setting, it also features an MP3 player, radio and large time display.
